TEXAS HOLDEM STARTING HANDS GUIDE
This guide can be used to help you decide how to play every hole card combination (your two private cards in Texas Holdem). Find one of your cards in the first column, then find your second card in one of the columns to the right and bet accordingly. In a nine-person game, early position is the two blinds and the next player (players 1-3), middle position is players 4-6 and late position is players 7-9.
This guide is meant to be just that – a guide. It is totally acceptable to deviate from this list and create your own strategy. A good place to test your strategy is online – we recommend PokerStars.com for both free and real money tables. Test your starting hand strategy on the free tables first (but keep in mind that you might be playing against beginner players who will play more hands than they should, resulting in more bad beats than if you were playing against seasoned players).
